There's more to France than Paris, the Riviera and Alpine ski resorts. There are places in France where you actually have a chance to improve your French, where people talk at less than 20,000 syllables per second, and where they don't mind speaking even slower and even more clearly if you just say "pardon". The village of Marpain, next to the idyllic town of Pesmes, is such a place.

There are many reasons to visit us. Marpain may be your first stop-over destination on your route to Southern France. You may also want to stay to discover a whole new side of France. Marpain is located on the border of two different regions, so you can conveniently explore the Haute Saone, Jura and Burgundy.

Here, tourism has not yet become an industry. So when the baker selling you a baguette notices that you are a foreigner, he or she will express pride over the region and the community, wanting you to enjoy them as well! This is also one of the reasons why we started our Guesthouse: we wish to share with you our feeling of being so warmly welcomed in Marpain and the French countryside!

The Guesthouse—consisting of 4 apartments of one to three rooms each—is available to individual guests and families, as well as groups of up to 12 people.
